The project \"Integration now! Self-determined living with a personal budget\"<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The aim of the project was to set up a regional, independent advisory service on the personal budget for budget recipients and those interested in the budget. Clients were supported in asserting their interests with cost bearers and services. Another focus of the project was to raise awareness among political decision-makers.<\/p>

The advice center has successfully established itself as a contact point for people with disabilities, their relatives, funding bodies and service providers, as well as for other advice centers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What is the personal budget and who can use it?<\/strong>
The personal budget can take the form of a Cash benefit<\/strong> (in the employer model) or in the form of a Benefit in kind<\/strong> (via an assistance\/care service). It supports people with disabilities and those at risk of disability who need assistance in everyday life, at work or in their leisure time. Need support<\/strong> and would otherwise not be able to pay for them. It also applies to disabled children<\/strong> and for people who are on a budget do not manage yourself<\/strong> can. With the budget you can Purchase rehabilitation and participation services yourself<\/strong> (money instead of goods or services). There is a Legal claim<\/strong>, but you must apply for<\/strong>. If several cost units are involved, it is called Multi-agency personal budget<\/strong>.<\/p>

What can you apply for it for?<\/strong><\/p>

  • Social participation<\/strong> (e.g. mobility or communication aids)<\/p><\/li>

  • Participation in working life<\/strong> (e.g. work or study assistance)<\/p><\/li>

  • Medical rehabilitation<\/strong> (e.g. assistance with care)
    Costs of normal life such as Rent, heating, electricity, food<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    How do you get a personal budget (procedure)?<\/strong><\/p>

    1. Consultation appointment<\/strong> agree<\/p><\/li>

    2. Need for support<\/strong> determine (daily\/monthly)<\/p><\/li>

    3. Cost estimate<\/strong> (with advice and, if necessary, payroll accounting)<\/p>

      • Choose organization:
        a) Service provider model:<\/strong> Contract with outpatient service; service provides staff, provides services (up to 24 hours possible) and invoices.
        b) Employer model:<\/strong> You hire assistants yourself; payroll accounting can be handled by a payroll office\u00a0<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>

      • Request<\/strong> with the responsible Service provider\/cost unit<\/strong> offices (as required), e.g: Health\/nursing care insurance, pension\/accident insurance, youth\/social welfare, integration assistance, integration office, employment agency, etc.<\/p><\/li>

      • Budget conference<\/strong> (in the case of several cost bearers): a contact person is determined; requirements, amount and duration are negotiated; then adjusted later if necessary.<\/p><\/li>

      • Target agreement<\/strong>: record in writing (amount, period, evidence).<\/p><\/li><\/ol>

        Advantages and disadvantages<\/strong>
        Advantages:<\/strong> more Independence<\/strong>, not tied to one provider, assistance combinable<\/strong> (e.g. partly service, partly own assistance).
