We at the Center for Self-Determined Living for the Disabled (ZSL e.V.) have been pursuing this goal since our association was founded in 1988 by advocating equal opportunities, self-determination and social participation for all people with disabilities, e.g. through

• Free and confidential advice
• Advice from counselors who are themselves disabled (peer counselors)
• ZSL information events on proposed legislation
• Meeting events to facilitate and maintain contacts outside of facilities for the disabled

The individual projects of the ZSL are funded by the district of Middle Franconia, the state of Bavaria, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Aktion Mensch, but has to cover a considerable proportion of the costs itself.
